- Copyediting: includes all proofreading tasks and improvements to phrasing and organization for more effective writing
- Substantive Editing: includes a higher level of rewriting and reorganization. This may involve new ideas, approaches, and intensive changes. Dialogue between the editor and writer will be necessary.
